Summer Concert

A huge well done to all of the performers in this year’s Summer Concert! There was a range of talents on show as ever. Well done for all of your hard work this year!

Jack Petchey

The Student Council reviewed 172 student nominations and 6 tutor nominations and selected three worthy recipients of the Jack Petchey award. They will be spending their money on PE Equipment (£250), Science (£125), Drama (£125) and Student Council (£250) to help with improving recycling at Chace.

African Drumming workshop

Year 8s are taking part in an African Drumming workshop this morning. The pupils are already showing their skills and using key words such as ‘pulse’ and ‘syncopation’ from their Blues and Jazz work, to answer questions.

Year 7 Singing Day

Year 7 spent the day singing together in a Bohemian Rhapsody day, celebrating the music of Queen. Each form performed their own song with soloists, instrumentalists, dancers and special effects to entertain each other and presented their homework projects on Queen for the last few lessons. We were reminded of the 1985 Live Aid Concert, with students donating food to the Enfield Foodbank. Thank you to Mr Carmichael and Ms Davies for all of their hard work. Year 7 are the champions!

Year 13 Prom

‘Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened’. Fun farewell for our Year 13 Leavers – wishing you all the very best of luck on your new adventures.

Engineering

A-Level Physics and Maths students at Engineering in Action. The students met Sam Rogers from Gravity Industries, the designer of the Flight Suit. The flight suit is similar to the Iron Man power armour.

Year 12 Induction morning

We welcomed our new Year 12 students this morning. They learnt a bit more about Sixth Form life and how to prepare for September. It was lovely to see so many of our students returning, as well as those coming from elsewhere. Engagement and enthusiasm was fantastic and we look forward to seeing you all again on enrolment day and beyond.

Education Education Education

Ms Findlay, Mr Wilson and Ms Truesdale took 30 Year 10 GCSE Drama students to the Trafalgar Studios to see ‘Education Education Education’; a comedy play with music set in a school in the 1990s. The trip was a huge success with much laughter from the whole audience!
