Home Learning

Satchel:One (previously known as ‘Show My Homework’) is the main platform we use to set work for students who are unable to attend school. If you encounter any problems with logging in or accessing the work please do contact the school by email on chace@chace.enfield.sch.uk . We are monitoring the work set, but please be mindful that if a teacher becomes unwell, there may be periods where work is not set.

Students can access this by signing in to RM Unify by clicking here. RM Unify gives students access to many platforms including Satchel:One, Google Mail,  Google Classroom and Google Meet.

Year 10 & Year 12

From 15 June teachers will be supporting the students' independent work by hosting at least one online interactive lesson per week for each subject leading to an exam.  Most lessons will be hosted on Google Meet, although some for Year 12 students will be through Zoom.  The lessons will take place at the same time as students would normally have their lessons on the school timetable and teachers will inform the students of the timing in advance.

The lessons can be accessed on a range of devices including smart phones, tablets, chromebooks, laptops and computers.

We appreciate that not all students have unlimited access to equipment and the internet and have been pursuing the government on their promise of devices for Year 10 students.  In the meantime, we will be offering supervised use of computers in school for a limited number of students who are not able to access the lessons at home.  These students will be allocated a socially distanced workstation in school and will remain with the same group of students each day. If you need to book a space in school for your child please contact maunder@chace.enfield.sch.uk by Wednesday 10th June.

Please find the virtual learning timetable for Year 10 here.

Year 9 online Lessons

With students now having received their new options for year 10, Some teachers would like to offer students the opportunity to have an introductory lesson in these subjects. This is to offer support in
completing the bridging activities. The timetable can be found here.

Examinations

The Government has announced that all public examinations (including A Level, GCSE and BTECs) will NOT take place this year and the qualifications will be awarded through an alternative mechanism called calculated grades.

Please click here to read the guidance from the Department for Education regarding the cancellation of the summer examinations alternatively watch the video below.

Free School Meals

For those families entitled to Free School Meals, we have been using the government's preferred supplier, Edenred, to provide families with vouchers that they can redeem against a supermarket of their choice from those available on the list.

Childcare for Key Workers’ Children

We are continuing to host childcare for the children of Key Workers and vulnerable students. To maintain social distancing this must be a last resort for families. Wherever possible, children should
be at home to keep themselves and others safe.

Welfare Calls

We are remaining in contact by telephone with a number of families of young people who may be particularly struggling at the moment.
