A group of Year 8 & 9 students are currently being taught some A-Level Maths during a series of after school Maths Masterclasses. This week’s session was an introduction to calculus. All of the students approached the tasks set with real enthusiasm.

Mayor’s Debating Award
A team from Year 8 and Year 9 are heading to the finals of the Mayor’s Debate Award in March. This is after representing the school in an intense debate about whether students should have complete free choice in their GCSE options.
Year 9’s are the new freshman at Kingston University
On 2nd February 2017, Year 9 students were invited to Kingston University, South London, to experience student life there. At the University, they did many activities with other schools: games using transferrable skills like communication, a personality test, discussions about career options and an interview with University students and staff. This informative visit helped them think about choosing the right options for GCSEs and how that will shape their future.
